Close Up Diopters enable you to get closer focus on large cinema lenses while maintaining edge sharpness and overall image performance. Perfect for anamorphic lenses which generally have an increased minimum focus, these large diopters allow you to reduce your minimum focus distance while maintaining fast workflow of a single tray. Easily install or pull the diopter like and normal tray.

Single Tray + Diopter

Each 4×5.65 138mm Diopter Tray comes with either a +0.25 or +0.50 Close Up Diopter installed. The diopter is hard mounted and integrated into the tray. Single trays do not allow a diopter beyond +0.50. You will need to look at our Double Tray with traditional 138mm Close Up Diopter in +1 or +2 if you want to get closer.

Compatible with all 4×5.65 standard width trays including Arri, Bright Tangerine Kick, Tilta T-12, Chrosziel 450 and others. Not compatible with matte boxes that do not have a removable top-loading tray or oversized ones like Tilta T-04, Shape, BT VIV and CAvision.

Which diopter strength do you need? 

Diopter values are based on the metric scale. A +1 diopter will result in 1 meter focus at your lens’ infinity focus setting. If you want to know the new infinity focus in feet, then you will need to convert from 1 meter to 3.3 feet. You’ll also want to work out your new minimum focus distance.
